    Jonathan Bisesi has held the position of Percussionist with the “Presidents Own” United States Marine Band since May 2004. He has been a featured soloist with the Marine Band on multiple occasions, most notably on the Filene Center stage at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, and the “Presidents Own” 2011 National Concert Tour.

    Edward Knoeckel is a composer, pianist, music educator and conductor. As an educator, he has developed curriculum for community summer arts programs, public education, as well as having held university and college faculty positions in music theory, American music history, music for dance, music for motion pictures, as well as performance practice.

    Dr. Emily H. Green enjoys scholarship on a number of areas of music history. Her first interest in musicology concerns strategies of music publishing and marketing in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century western Europe and America.

    Lisa Berger is a professional singer in the Washington area who has been affiliated with George Mason University as an Adjunct Professor since 2003, on the voice faculty and in the classroom.

    Dr. John Paul Healey has served on the piano faculty of George Mason University’s School of Music since 2004.  Since then he has performed with students, faculty members and as a soloist in most of the performance venues on campus.  He has been included as an annual faculty presenter in GMU’s Piano Pedagogy Seminars since 2009.

    Dr. Lisa Bloy earned a B.M. from Oberlin Conservatory, her M.M. from Pennsylvania University, and a DMA from Michigan State University. As an adjunct faculty member at GMU, Dr. Bloy has accompanied many students from both vocal and instrumental studios and has worked with the GMU opera classes.

    Dr. Anna Balakerskaia is a “consistently thrilling pianist” (Judy Gruber, Washington Post) whose expression “wells with a delightful freedom,” (Robert Dumm, Clavier) and whose sound “is warm and deep.”

    Professor Jim Carroll has a versatile background ranging from tours with Michael Jackson to Woody Herman and The Thundering Herd.  Jim received both his Undergraduate and Graduate training from Indiana University under the tutelage of David Baker and Eugene Rousseau.

    Wade Beach is widely respected for his harmonic sophistication and superb technique, which knows no stylistic limitations. He holds a master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Maryland.

    Anthony J. Maiello is Professor of Music and University Professor at George Mason University. Professor Maiello teaches applied lessons in Conducting, Aural Skills, and classes in Instrumental Conducting.
