In May, a George Mason University law student, working with the Mason Veterans and Servicemembers Legal Clinic (M-VETS), advocated for a U.S. combat veteran before an administrative law judge at a hearing before the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA). 

For Northern Virginia native Ryan McIntyre, the path to a master’s in environmental science and policy at George Mason University began with something simple: a love for the outdoors and a family connection.

An undergraduate student-led Mason Impact project at Mason Korea results in a co-authored article published in the peer-reviewed international journal Environmental Monitoring and Assessment. “Accessible water quality monitoring through hybrid human–machine colorimetric methods” stems from the Mason Impact project focused on environmental conditions in the Seunggi-cheon stream in Incheon. 

Kinesiology major Midori Galligan is on George Mason's women's rowing team. She also performs with Noteworthy, a university a capella student group.

In just five years, the Schar School’s immersive Learning Communities program has expanded from a single cohort of first-year government majors to four vibrant communities, now also serving students passionate about the intersection of law and politics, as well as international policy.
