Multiple national college rankings released in recent weeks have placed George Mason University among America’s top 50 public universities, top 100 among all public and private institutions, and Virginia’s No. 1 public university for social mobility.

George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School is the No. 2 law school in the commonwealth in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. The school also ranks No. 2 among all law schools in the Washington, D.C., area.

George Mason University has 10 graduate programs in the top 30 among public institutions, according to the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report, reflecting the university’s reputation for innovation and ability to make significant impacts on the national stage.

George Mason University has five programs in the top 100 in the world in the latest Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, with the Antonin Scalia Law School leading the way at 28th worldwide, 17th in the United States, and 13th among U.S. public institutions.

BSN program moves up to 93 nationally and 70 among public universities. 

George Mason University has been recognized as a “five-star premier campus” by Campus Pride Index, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating safer LGBTQ-friendly learning environments at colleges and universities. It is the only Virginia university to earn this recognition and the only public university in the state included in Campus Pride's "Best of the Best" list of 40 LGBTQ-friendly universities.

The results are in: The Schar School of Policy and Government moved up nine spots in the latest U.S. News & World Report for 2023 Best Graduate Schools.

The program rose 17 spots to number #79.

The program is one of five in the College that ranks in the top 100.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) continues to rank within the top 50 in its discipline.
