In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Homecoming at George Mason University centered around soccer and was held in the fall. Here you see Homecoming King Archie Kao, BA Speech Communication '92, with Homecoming Queen Christina Bartlow, BA Government and Politics '91, and President George Johnson. Kao was student body president in 1990–91, and the quality of student life on campus was high among the priorities for Mason's Student Government. Kao was elected Homecoming King for that 1990 celebration and was even quoted in a Washington Post article written about the event, which was declared a success with more than 2,000 people attending.
This was a few years before Kao starred as Kai Chen, the Blue Power Ranger of "Power Rangers Lost Galaxy," and then moved on to "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," where he played audiovisual surveillance specialist Archie Johnson for 11 seasons. During his time on CSI, he was named by People magazine as one of the “Hottest Bachelors" of 2006. In recent years, the bilingual actor has divided his time between Los Angeles and Beijing, appearing as a series regular on "Chicago P.D." and the Chinese series "Breath of Destiny," "My Dear Boy," and "Nothing Gold Can Stay," among other projects.
