WBJ: Mason is one of the D.C. area’s largest employers among colleges and universities

George Mason University is behind only the University of Maryland among colleges and universities in the Washington Business Journal’s 2021 rankings of the Washington, D.C., area’s largest employers.

Mason came in 27th overall with 7,299 Metro-area employees. Maryland is eighth with 14,000.

Other ranked institutions include George Washington University (30th), Georgetown University (34th), and American University (46th).
