Police helicopter scheduled to land at Merten Hall Wednesday afternoon

Fairfax County Police will be landing a helicopter on the Fairfax Campus today at 3 p.m. 

The landing will be in front of Merten Hall and was arranged for a class at Mason’s Volgenau School of Engineering. The pilot will demonstrate the principles of vertical lift as well as how cyclic and collective flight systems affect motion and control of the rotor blades. 

The presentation is expected to last about an hour. You may see George Mason University police in front of the building to help direct traffic during landing and takeoff.
